Right in the Community wants to be your Developmental Disability Resource. We keep up with trends, changes, and new programs and stand ready to help families find their way along the path to services.

We can meet with you and discuss your needs and help find the appropriate programs and services. We have lists of doctors, dentists, psychologists and psychiatrists, residential programs, day programs, camps, and other programs to share with families. Resource information is maintained and updated so that we keep the most current numbers and names.

Our staff is always willing to help families complete paperwork such as SSI applications, transit program applications, and waiver applications. We are also here to help them understand the maze of paperwork required for many of these programs.

Because we have been helping families for over 50 years, we have a helping history. We know most of the providers and the agencies and are able to network in the disability community and find the appropriate services and programs and help families obtain services with a minimum of delay.

We are your resource for services in the community.

Advocacy

Right in the Community has board members and staff on various community committees that deal with disability issues in order to have a voice in the quality and delivery of services. We also stay in touch with our legislators and community leaders keeping Developmental Disability issues in view at all times. Right in the Community offers meetings and workshops on such subjects such as: Estate Planning for the Disabled, Public School Law, SSI and Medicaid issues. Our newsletter keeps families up to date on current issues that might impact their child’s services and links them to meetings and public hearings of importance.
