Right in the Community is a membership organization. Started by families in 1956 as Cobb Association for Retarded Children, Inc., the organization maintains that families are our strength. Families helping families, passing on a lifetime of information, encouragement, and hope ensure our existence, our focus, and our continuing purpose. The mission of RITC is a family-focused message:

Right in the Community is committed to promoting opportunities for all people with developmental disabilities to live full, productive, self-determined lives of the highest quality by fostering local communities that embrace all people.

Membership is open to anyone. Dues are $25.00 per year for individuals and families, and includes a newsletter subscription. We keep members informed of legislative issues, events, services and programs that may be of interest to those who have a child or family member with a developmental disability through meetings, workshops and our newsletters. Many teachers and legislators find it helpful to stay current with disability issues by belonging to RITC.
